Today Maria had her pre-op at the hospital, Dr. Paley was amazed at her flexibility and range of movement. He proudly exhibited her to some visiting surgeons explaining that her hip was one of his best results.
She goes into the hospital tomorrow at 8 and will stay one or two nights there. The operation, about two hours, will consist of fitting a rod into her femur, with the objective of lenthening the bone 5 cm.
She is in good spirits, anxious to start the process, and ready to face the daily grind of physical therapy. She is amazed at all the messages and good wishes that all of you have been sending- many many thanks!

Meanwhile, Paula and Patty started camp today, and came home very happy. Belen, on the other hand, is not anxious to visit the camp we have in mind for her, afraid of having to speak English. Our interview there is tomorrow morning, Angel, Adele and I will take her, as Diana and Icho will be at the hospital. I'll keep you posted, it should be interesting!
