Half-way There!

We are now halfway through the lengthening process and the measurement taken today of Maria's femur is 4.3 cm, a bit over half of the 8 cm. we hope to finally achieve!  (See the X-ray in Icho's post).

The doctors are pleased with her progress and these positive results are a real shot in the arm for the whole family.  We could not ask for more.

Maria's physical therapist in Madrid, Maria Nogueira, has come to spend a week with us here in Florida and to observe the PT sessions in the hospital.  The head therapist has kindly allowed her to shadow her during the day, which should be interesting for her.  Maria is a fantastic therapist, and we will all benefit from her new experience.

The whole family loves her, and we want to show her our Florida lifestyle.  We took her to Sunday Brunch yesterday and then to shopping at the Outlet Mall- what can be more American than that! (See pic in Icho's post)

On Sat. the girls attended a fun event at the library and participated in a little skit with the other kids.  Here is a pic with the actress-presenter who played a cave woman.  A good time was had by all!
